Ceramic brackets, often referred to as clear braces, blend with the natural color of your teeth. They use the same fundamental mechanics as metal braces, but are harder to spot in photos. Most of our teen and adult patients who want braces but not the metallic aesthetic choose this option.

They are coated with a smooth zirconia finish that gives them a light gold appearance that is both durable and beautiful. No, there isn't an age that disqualified you! Healthy teeth and gums are the requirement, not a birth year. We have had patients in their 50s, 60s, and 70s in active treatment. It is never too late to improve your smile!
Anywhere from about six months to a few years, depending on what's being corrected and the complexity of the case. Dr. Wood will give you an estimate at your complimentary consultation based on your actual scan and X-rays.
Getting braces themselves and putting them on shouldn't hurt. There could be some slight discomfort. Your teeth might ache for about a week after they go on and a day or two after adjustments, but over-the-counter pain relievers normally reduce any discomfort.
Yes to both. Wear a mouthguard for contact sports (ask us, we'll point you to the right kind). For instruments, you might see a slight adjustment period of a week or two on brass or woodwind instruments.
